Team
Registration
1) Deposits
& Team Reservation - A $100.00 deposit is
required in order to reserve a team's place in all leagues. At the time a
deposit is received, the team will be placed on a priority
list for the league in which they would prefer to play. If a deposit is not
placed, leagues will come on a FIRST COME basis.
2) Team Fees - All remaining league fees are due prior to the first
game of the season. Any and all teams with an outstanding balance prior to the
second game of the season will be required to pay the FULL BALANCE PRIOR TO
PLAYING OR RECEIVE A FORFEIT. NO
EXCEPTIONS!
3) Schedules - Each coach/captain will be
notified by telephone and given the time of their first game. Each
coach/captain will then notify each
team member. Upon arrival for your first game the captain will be furnished with
a full season schedule with all the remaining games. Teams must submit all
schedule requests at least 10 days prior to the start of the season. Soccer
Spectrum will make every attempt to accommodate your request. If we are unable
to accommodate your team we will notify you prior to issuing the schedule. All
schedules are final. Any changes made after the final schedule is issued are
subject to re-scheduling policy.
4) GAME
RE-SCHEDULING- Once completed, all schedules are
final. If your team has a conflict, and is unable to play at the scheduled time,
the following re-scheduling policy will be followed:
A) Soccer Spectrum must receive a written request, along with a $25 check from the
team coach or captain, at least 5 days prior to the game in
question.
B) The opposing team will then be
notified that their opponent has a conflict. If the opposing team can play the
game during another available time slot the game will be
re-scheduled.
C) If the opposing team does not want to
or is unable to play in another time slot the game will be played at the
originally scheduled time and the $25 fee returned.
5) ROSTERS- Team rosters must be completed and turned in to the
office prior to the first game of the season. A team may add or delete players
up to the THIRD game of the season. At the start of the third
game of the season all rosters are frozen. If your roster is not turned in prior
to the third game, you will forfeit the game. Any team
using a non-roster player will forfeit the game automatically.
INDOOR SOCCER RULES &
REGULATIONS
1) EQUIPMENT- All players must wear shin
guards that are covered by socks; numbered jersey (no taped numbers);
no cleated soles; goalkeeper must wear different colored jersey; no watches or jewelry; casts and braces at the referees
discretion.
2) NUMBER OF PLAYERS-
U-8 & U-10 = 1 goalkeeper and 7 field players
U-12 = 1 goalkeeper and 6 field players
U-14 and up = 1 goalkeeper and 6 field players
* The minimum number of players required to start a game is 3 field players and 1 goalkeeper for a total
of 4 players.
3) FREE KICKS- Major and minor infractions are penalized by a direct
free kick. A time penalty can also be given depending on the severity of the
foul. All dead ball free kicks are direct.
4) TIME
PENALTIES- Time penalties are issued for serious
fouls, delay of game, unsportsmanlike conduct, and violent fouls. Blue card
infractions are penalized 2 minutes, yellow cards are penalized four minutes,
and red cards penalized 5 minutes. If a team is issued a time penalty, that team
must play a man down for the duration of the penalty, or until a goal is scored
by the opposing team. If a player is issued a blue card for misconduct, that
player must serve the entire time and must wait for a dead ball to re-enter the
game. A team does not play shorthanded for a misconduct penalty unless there are no players on the bench to replace the penalized
player. If a team falls below the minimum number of l\players required as a result of a time penalty, they will receive a forfeit.
If a goalkeeper receives a blue or yellow card, a field player must serve the
penalty for the goalkeeper. Any penalty time not expired at the end of a half
will be carried over into the next half or overtime. If a player receives 2 blue
cards in one game a yellow card is issued. Any player receiving 3 blue cards in
one game is issued a red card and is ejected from the game. Any player rejected
from the game, must leave the building.
5) DELAY OF
GAME- Delay of game is called when 1) a player

called 3) a player takes longer than 5 seconds to put a free kick in play after
having been signaled to do so by the referee 4) the
goalkeeper does not distribute the ball outside the box within 5 seconds of possession with either hands or feet.
6) SHOOTOUTS- A shootout is taken from the open dot between the top
of the box and the red line. The goalie must have one foot on the goal line and
all other players, with the exception of the shooter, must be at midfield when
the whistle is blown. Once the whistle is blown to start the shootout, the ball
is in play and the other players at midfield may chase down the shooter and try
to stop him/her from scoring. Shootouts are awarded when, the last defender
deliberately fouls an opposing team member, a foul is
committed to prevent a sure goal, or for a sixth foul is
committed.
7) RED LINE
VIOLATIONS- A red line violation occurs when the ball
crosses both red lines in the air without being touched by another player of
either team, the net, the wall, or the referee. Change possession and a direct
kick from the first crossed red line restarts the play.
8) TEAM FOULS- When a team accumulates six
fouls in a half, a shootout is awarded. Red line violations, two touch fouls,
and time penalties do not count toward team fouls. A shootout will be given
every sixth foul incurred in each half. Illegal substitution and bench penalties
are not considered team fouls.
9) I.D. CARDS- All players playing indoor soccer or coaches coaching at any sanctioned facility in North Texas must have valid indoor I.D. cards approved through N.T.S.S.A. office in Carrollton (972)323-1323. Cards are valid for one year from August 31st - August 31st the following year. Adult cards are $25 and youth cards are $18. The price of the card remains the same regardless of when it was purchased. A picture I.D. is required for all age groups U-14 to adults. Soccer Spectrum will take your photo and produce the I.D. You must have a valid I.D. to play. NO CARD, NO PLAY, NO EXCEPTIONS! Players and coaches are the only people allowed in the players' box. Should you have any questions regarding I.D. cards contact Soccer Spectrum or the N.T.S.S.A. office.
10) LEAGUE GAMES- All league
games are 40 minutes long with 2 twenty-minute halves. Half time is 1 minute
long. Regular season games that end in a tie are considered ties. Only in a
championship game or third place game is overtime played. Over time consists of
a 3 minute sudden death period. If still tied, the game will go to a shootout.
Before each game, each player must give his or her I.D. card to the referee. If
a team is short the minimum number of players required to begin, they will be
given a 10-minute grace period before the game is considered a forfeit. During
this grace period, the game clock will be running, and in the event that the
minimum number of players required arrive, the clock will not be reset. In the event of a forfeit, the teams involved will have
access to the field during the scheduled game time for a scrimmage or
practice.
11) GAME CLOCK- The game clock
on the scoreboard runs continuously throughout the game. Teams are to be on the
field ready to play at their scheduled time. The clock will stop for injuries.
The clock will be stopped for all whistles in the last 2 minutes of the second
half of a championship game. In all other instances, the clock can only be
stopped at the referee's discretion.

Spectrum referees are certified by N.T.S.S.A. for indoor soccer. The number of

= $24
U-14 AND BELOW- 1 REFEREE @ $12
Each team is responsible for half of
the total fee paid to the referee or referees. If only one referee is available
for a game in which 2 referees are normally used, both teams pay $7 each to the
referee (N.T.S.S.A. RULE)
13) STANDINGS- Standings are determined by
wins, losses and ties. The best overall team record determines playoff
positioning. 1 v 2 for the championship, 3 v 4 for third place. In the event of
a tie in records, the following tie breaking system will be
used:
A) head-to-head play
B) Goals
differential
C) Goals for
D) Goals Against
14) AWARDS- 1st PLACE teams receive a team trophy
or individual trophies. Runner-up teams receive individual
trophies. If a team wins a particular division two times consecutively, we ask
that the team move up a division if one is available.
15) DIVISIONS- Individuals may
play on as many different teams as desired provided; 1) they are on the same
team roster, 2) they are not competing on two teams within the same league. In
an effort to provide the most fun and competitive environment for all teams, Soccer Spectrum reserves the
right, if necessary, to place teams in the appropriate division based on the
level of play and /or ability of the players. Note Co-ed
division requirements.
SPECIAL COED RULES &
REGULATIONS
1) Each team will field a total of seven players; 3
male and 3 female, and a goalkeeper of either sex. The minimum number of players
required to start a game is five with one female included in that number. A team
may have more females than males on the field at anytime. Similarly, there can
be more male players on the field than female players so long as there are no
more than three male players (excluding the goalkeeper).
2) A female may score from anywhere on the field. A
male may score from outside the red line or from within the red line if he receives a pass from a female player. A female goal is
worth 2 points. A male goal is worth 1 point. A male player who is "live"
(having received the ball from a female player) can play
the ball off the wall and still be "hot" (able to shoot from inside the red
line) as long as the ball was not touched. If a "live" player shoots and the
ball is deflected of the goalkeeper, he is still "hot" and may shoot
again.
3) There is no sliding or slide tackling allowed in
a coed game with the exception of the goalkeeper in his box. Dangerous play will
be determined at the referee's discretion and a two-minute
penalty may be given if deemed necessary by the referee.
4) Shootouts in coed - one point
for males - two points for females.
